It’s quiet in town right now but don’t let that fool you, the Chamber is working on several new and exciting events. Our plan for this year is to work with all of our local organizations in “Working Together Works” for a better Clay County. I met last week with CCCRA in planning some concert events, getting together with the VFW for a Memorial Day Parade, and possible a 5K run, all of these are in the planning stages right now. I hope to have more information on these events soon. I am also working on getting some business seminars scheduled for the near future; we will take advantage of the now quite time with some FREE BUSINESS seminar to benefit our local merchants. One of the major weaknesses in most businesses is contact information that’s sloppy, inaccurate, incomplete and non- existent. We at the Chamber realize this and are continuously working on this issue. Please bear with us in this matter, we are asking that if your business information has changed that you let us know as soon as possible. We want everyone to be informed in the happenings of our Community. I’d like to welcome REACH of Clay County as a new member. REACH is a non-profit organization that works with families in crisis due to domestic violence and sexual assault. They also assist in finding housing and employment to those in need through a displaced homemaker program. If you need to contact them please call 828-389-0797. Last week at the Hayesville House’s Business after hours the following members were gracious in providing door prizes, Murphy Movers, United Community Bank, Deer Valley at Davy Mountain subdivision.
