      Wel are a small, rural school system of approximately 1,485 students. There are three schools in the county located on a single campus. Hayesville Elementary is a PK-4 school , Hayesville Middle School is a 5-8 school  and Hayesville High School. All schools are accredited by the North Carolina State Board of Education and the Department of Public Instruction. Hayesville High School is accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools.

Campbell Folk School offers a unique blend of culture, history and art through weekend and week long classes in time-honored crafts, music, dance, gardening, writing, cooking, nature studies and photography.
